India is going through a phase. Divided between eastern collectivist culture and also learning and witnessing the wonders of western individualistic culture. Of course there's going to be lot of confusion around and like pimples on a teenager's face, the first signs are clearly visible in the dating sphere.
1. Commitment As An Achievement
I'd say there are more girls in this category because commitment just means a lot to the female species. Any evolutionary biologist will tell you that. The people here cannot be single. Cannot. They'd probably lose their night's sleep if they go single a little while longer.
The best part is how they treat singles. They scoff at them with jibes like "anyway you are eternally single" (true story) totally unaware that the statement is more of a confession of how insecure they are on their own as an individual. Otherwise who else types 500 messages on whatsapp daily!
And of course anyone with this kind of insecurities with high-speed internet and facebook..you know it!..sudden speeches, pics, quotes, hashtags and updates of how much in love she is, always there like those pop up ads. Here's one:

A breed not far away from the one above on the genetic hierarchy. This one has mostly guys. If insecurity of being single (as friends are not) is the problem above, here it's the numbers game to brag about during the next beer council. And it's fun in the beginning till he reaches into his pocket, takes out the phone and wants you to see her pics and messages she sends him. From that moment anything he says feels like he's on the ground grabbing your legs, his forehead to your feet and pleading: "please..please..please look i'm not a loser i'm not not i'm not..26472 girls were naked with me in the last 4 years i'm not a loser!!!"
3. Sex As Taboo
Finally something to place both genders in. It doesn't worst than this. There are couples going around together since 3 years and have not done the deed! There are weird posts going around about "it doesn't have to be about crossing one's limits always", just wonder whose fucking limits they talk about. There's probably no other fucked up view about sex than this one. Completely missing the point that sex in it's simplest form is just this amazing experience and pleasure that two people share together and you don't have to approach it with all the baggage of religion, culture and what your parents will say.

They are smart people. Just not being in any of the above categories automatically makes you above avg intelligence. Their lives are not so easy though. The world is full of the three above. My theory—most are there just to avoid ending up in the three on top, and they get the correct definition of sex, so most are probably looking for a No Strings Attached arrangement (fucking rare to get!)
